Key Responsibilities.

- Be able to design, code, probe and document mini iOT middleware.

- Collaborate closely with application development teams to accelerate development via edge middleware services securely tying controls firmware and infrastructure software.

- Evolve our edge computing architecture to address the varying requirements of field engineers, security analysts, and data scientists among other stakeholders as we bring the joy of coffee roasting to all.

- Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, ensuring a coherent understanding of system capabilities.

- Research emerging technologies, anticipate technical needs and propose technical strategies to optimally compose our system based on in-house, open-source and commercially available tooling

- Elevate our engineering quality bar

MUST HAVE

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
• 6+ years of software engineering experience at technology-driven companies
• Strong security fundamentals, from iptables to SQL injections
• A love for coding, applying Typescript, Node and other technology options as the shoe fits
• Can readily explain why object-oriented principles work
• Can tell a breadth-first search from a two-phase commit

NICE TO HAVE

• Thoroughly versed in agile development methods and tools
• Python metods knowledge.
• Thorough understanding of Un*x design principles
• An infectious reverence for quality code and the process that creates it
• Ability to flexibly optimize for various non-functional requirements
• Experience developing APIs and SDKs is a big plus
• Ability to build trusting relationships with team members to create a safe, positive, and productive working environment. 
• Geeky and nerdy mindset - Always learning something new to improve.
