Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled AIoT Embedded Systems Architect to lead the development of advanced IoT solutions that integrate artificial intelligence within embedded systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong architectural skills, leadership abilities, and extensive experience in AIoT technologies. This role involves designing scalable, secure, and efficient embedded systems, leading a team of engineers, and driving innovation in our product offerings.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Design and Oversight
- Design and develop scalable AIoT embedded systems architectures integrating hardware, firmware, cloud services, and mobile applications.
- Ensure system designs meet performance, security, and reliability requirements.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and platforms to meet product objectives.
Technical Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers in developing AIoT solutions.
- Oversee the full development lifecycle from concept to deployment.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Product Development
- Drive innovation in product features and functionalities.
- Align product development with business objectives and market needs.
- Collaborate with product management to define product roadmaps.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure seamless integration of system components across various platforms.
- Facilitate effective communication between teams to optimize development processes.
Security Implementation
- Implement security best practices across all aspects of system design and development.
- Ensure compliance with data protection standards and regulations.
- Conduct security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
Cloud Integration
- Integrate embedded systems with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Manage data flow between devices and cloud infrastructure.
- Optimize cloud services for performance and cost-effectiveness.
Project Management
- Plan and manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Utilize Agile methodologies to improve efficiency and adaptability.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet objectives.
Stakeholder Communication
- Present architectural plans and project updates to management and clients.
- Incorporate feedback into development processes.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in embedded systems and IoT development.
- Proven experience in a leadership or architectural role.
Technical Expertise
- Extensive experience with ESP32 and the ESP RainMaker platform.
- Proficiency in firmware development using C/C++ and Java.
- Strong understanding of AIoT technologies and integrating AI capabilities into IoT devices.
- Experience with IoT communication protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, and BLE.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and cloud data integration.
Architectural and Leadership Skills
- Proven experience in designing complex embedded systems architectures.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a technical team.
- Strong decision-making skills and strategic thinking.
Security Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of securing embedded systems and IoT infrastructures.
- Experience implementing encryption, authentication, and secure boot processes.
- Familiarity with data protection regulations and compliance standards.
Problem-Solving Skills
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience resolving issues related to device connectivity, data transmission, and firmware updates.
- Ability to optimize system performance and reliability.
Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
Agile Methodologies
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience with mobile app development for iOS and Android platforms.
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning models, especially in deploying AI on edge devices.
- Experience with voice assistant integration (Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant).
